Born in Los Angeles, raised in New York City, I currently reside in Columbia, SC after living in Hawaii for 20 years. While in graduate school I developed a unique imaging system using ultraviolet light to recreate processes of creation, allowing a combination of materials and mediums to differentiate themselves into amazing primordial patterns and colors. Currently I am deconstructing recycled corrugated cardboard to reveal hidden levels of dimensional imagery inherent within the structure of the cardboard.
As an artist/educator I use concepts in STEM to teach art classes. My STEAM curriculum culminated in my proposed Art/Science/Technology course taught at the University of Hawaii. It featured working with the Scanning Electron Microscope to create new imagery based on materials observed at the sub atomic level. My work has been exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New Mexico, Hawaii, and the Carolinas.
