Artist Statement

"Afterglow" is part of a series of paintings I have been developing based on my career in architecture. The perspective drawing is created on the wall using nails for vanishing points and a caulk line to draw, very much like a building would be layered out to be constructed. Unlike a building, I can make up the design as I construct the painting. This leads to layers of transparent pulls of paint giving volume to the structure.
