Examining the nature of man in the presence of God, Lewis Braswell represents the confrontation of physical, intellectual, and spiritual desire in the light of divine righteousness. His work employs a personal reaction to the technical skill exemplified in Western art from the 15th and 16th centuries and signifies the use of the human figure to define his identity as a created being. Lewis has been exhibited in London, Provincetown, MA, Orlando, FL, and at Duke University in Durham, NC. His studies and experiences lead him on an ever-developing search for demonstrated creative excellence as well as spiritual truth. His favored media are charcoal, ink, and washes on paper.
