Stevie Shea is a mixed media artist who seeks to tell stories through powerful images. She is a self taught artist and voracious learner.

She loves the grit and life and depth that charcoal affords. It has an earthy element to it, while also being able to capture an almost photojournalistic snapshot of a living thing. She hopes that when people see her charcoal work, their instinct is to first feel that they've seen a black and white photo, before quickly realizing that there are in fact, artistic elements that set it apart as an original work. She creates portraiture and wildlife pieces, mostly from a magnified perspective- causing the viewer to feel as though they're literally face to face with the subject, engaging in a living, breathing interaction. She travels often and is always looking for ways to tell the stories of the people and places she discovers. She lives in North Carolina with her husband, Noah, and 5 kids.
