Cheryl Hazelton is a Memphis-based sculptor, video performance, and installation artist whose work delves deeply into the themes of time, decay, labor, and abject identity. With an interest in the ephemeral and the overlooked, Cheryl transforms everyday materials and activities into poignant reflections on the passage of time and the human condition. Her immersive installations challenge viewers to confront the transient nature of existence and the often-invisible labor that shapes our world.
Cheryl has had her work shown nationally and received the Graduate Purchase Award from the University of Memphis while earning her MFA in sculpture. Through her evocative sculptures and installations, Cheryl invites audiences to engage with the raw, unfiltered aspects of identity and existence, aspiring to make a lasting impact on the cultural landscape of Memphis and beyond.
