Terri Wells

Born in Brevard, NC, in March of 1971, at an age too young to even remember, I drew on the walls, again and again. I was unusually obsessed with architecture by the age of 7. I fell madly in love with everything photography as a pre-teen, an affair still going on to this day. I became the student with the communications and art degrees I then spent a long and satisfying career in media advertising with personal creative projects scattered here and there all along the way. During 2020, with time on my hands and cooties in the air, I dug out the paint and canvas and this began.

I paint daily in my home studio (ie: the dining room), mostly acrylic on canvas. I am an intuitive painter - I play, see what's there and move on. I'm influenced heavily by music, nature, graffiti, photography, sunlight and shadows and other art. Paint and a canvas allows me to combine my desire to create, the thrill of a challenge and the freedom of experimentation into the pure magic of discovery.
