My art is a celebration of beauty found in the overlooked and mundane; a deliberate response to my childhood tendency to see the negative in almost everything. Through my work, I strive to overshadow that negativity by focusing on the charm of the old, the forgotten, and the simple moments that often escape notice. My paintings have evolved with my life. When I was younger and single, they carried a seductive tone. As I fell in love and married, they softened, becoming more romantic and sweet. With the arrival of my child, my work took on a playful energy, filled with toys and whimsy. Now, I am in a place of contentment. I love my life, and although I still wrestles with worry, I consciously seeks out the bright side of everything. This shift is reflected in my current work, which exudes humor and joy. Beneath the fun and shiny surfaces, however, there often lies a subtle commentary on the world around me.
