I consider myself lucky to own my own home. It is a privilege that I believe should be accessible to every hardworking adult who feels ready. I've created this somewhat silly metaphor to represent a troubling idea: the notion that homeowners could soon become an endangered species. Much like the Giant Panda faces shortages of its natural habitat, we in this country are facing a shortage of housing supply. This piece brings together multiple mediums and techniques to create a layered texture that is ready to be explored. I've chosen to work within a motif reminiscent of the mid-20th century, as many of the homes we compete for today are leftover from this era.
