Daniel Kaufmann was born in Saigon, Vietnam, and raised in North Florida. Upon receiving his BS in Biological Studies and BA in Studio Art from Florida State University, he completed his graduate studies at the University of New Mexico with an MFA in Photography. Currently, he is a Professor of Photography at Marshall University. His work has also traveled and has been exhibited at venues such as ROSPHOTO (Russia), Aperture Gallery (NYC), Musée de l'Elysée (Switzerland), Target Gallery (VA), and New Mexico Museum of Art (NM). His photographic practice explores how historical, cinematic, and vernacular imagery have created a visual language of real and imagined spaces.
