Marie Dutka Brix

Marie Dutka Brix is a mixed media artist who maintains a studio in Owens Cross Roads, Alabama. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with a minor in French at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois in 1988. She then studied modern printmaking techniques at Atelier Contrepoint (formerly Atelier 17) in Paris, France. In 1992, she earned a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Ms. Brix has shown her work in national and international solo and group exhibitions including the International Museum of Surgical Science in Chicago, Illinois, the Deutche Internationale Grafik-Triennale in Frechen, Germany, and the 6ème Biennale de L'Estampe in Sarcelles, France. Recent exhibitions include the 2020 Red Clay Survey at the Huntsville Museum of Art in Alabama.
