JP Jermaine Powell is a North Carolina based mixed-media painter, public artist, and locally known as a "luxury art specialist". Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, JP holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Pratt Institute, located in Brooklyn, New York. His paintings and public art projects celebrate diversity and community, leadership principles, human connection, and nature. As a world traveler, JP's travel experiences have inspired the use of various luxury objects, birds, and animals featured in his unique three dimensional paintings. JP recently served as the North Carolina Museum Of Art's Artist In Residence. His newest solo exhibition, Leadership Reimagined, celebrating global leadership in the Arts, is currently on view at the North Carolina Museum Of Art. Some notable viewings of his work include: The North Carolina Museum Of Art, The World Trade Center, CAM Raleigh Museum, Al Maqam artist residency (Moracco), Focus Art Fair (NYC), The Harvey B. Gantt Center, and Duke University.
