"Inner Cycles Finding Ground" uses irregular, cyclical, crocheted structures to visually explore changes and shifts that we experience as we move through different moments of experience. The transitions in color, fiber type, and stitch move the viewer through a winding influx narrative of, and create a visual record of the artist's choices, thoughts, and emotive experience in its creation. The painted crepe myrtle branches as an x-like form under the suspended fiber structures, act as the grounding form. The crocheted forms themselves are independent but are crocheted together at the points where the branches intersection occurs. This creates suggestions of stasis and stability in the course of so much transition. The ring form at the top of each fiber structure creates the perfect circle that each form then deviates from only to find static calm again as it anchors within the branches. These shifts in the cyclical form find ground again within the strength of static forms.
