Emma Callicutt is an artist residing in Athens, GA. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in Art Education in May 2024. Emma is a recipient of the Robert W. Nix Art Education Award and has presented at the 2024 NAEA Convention. Emma's artwork has been exhibited at the Lyndon House Arts Center in Athens, GA, Worthmore Galleries in Decatur, GA, the Decatur Library, and the Dodd's Lupin Gallery in Athens, GA. Her work consists mostly of large scale pastel drawings.
Emma believes that engaging with the arts and humanities is integral to the development of one's ability to self-actualize. Her interest in art education stems from a desire to share this ability with those who may feel a lack of purpose or identity. She is drawn by art's potential to function as a tool that can teach one about the internal and hence, the external. Emma sees creativity as a way of promoting mutual understanding and ultimately, an embracement of all things.
