I am a native New Orleanian whose family roots in southeast Louisiana date back to the 1750s. I grew up as an artist - working with pencil and charcoal - creating drawings of people, places, and everything in between. Photography became an integral part of my life in 2011 when I was diagnosed with Leukemia.It provided an outlet of creativity and reflection that was immensely therapeutic. I use photography as a way to present the reality I see or envision in front of me rather than a literal representation of what the naked eye sees. A critical objective for my photography is approachability. It's my desire to produce images that people either feel a connection to or don't feel excluded by the subject matter.
