Addyson Aftanas is an artist who creates three-dimensional works such as multimedia sculpture, functional and non-functional ceramic art, and wood furniture. Addyson grew up in a small town in West Virginia, which has great influence on her work. The name of her growing ceramics business, Y'allternative Pottery, was influenced by her geographical background, mixed with her alternative preference in aesthetics. In her art, she explores the concept of death, as well as certain social issues regarding women's rights, and environmental issues. Addyson is currently in her junior year at Marshall University, studying visual arts. Artwork by her can be viewed through her website, yallternativepottery.com, as well as in person at Tamarack Marketplace and Breathe Wine and Culture Company's Huntington location.
