Dorothy Netherland
North Charleston, SC
Dorothy Netherland is an artist based in North Charleston, SC. She received a BA in Studio Art from the College of Charleston in 2000. Her work has been exhibited in museum shows, several universities, art galleries and art centers in the Southeast, as well as in NH and in Germany, where she completed an artist's residency.
She has participated in two Contemporary Charleston Piccolo Spoleto Festival exhibitions, and her work was twice chosen for inclusion the South Carolina Biennial at the 701 Center for Contemporary Art in Columbia, SC.
She is currently represented by Mike Brown Gallery in Columbia, SC. Most recently she was chosen for and completed an artist's residency at the Gibbes Musem of Art in Charleston, SC in May 2024.
She is currently making work for solo shows at The Gibbes Museum, and Public Works Art Center in Summerville, SC, which will take place in the late summer and fall of 2025.
