On my artistic journey, one thing seems to lead to another. I have lived so many different places and have been exposed to so many different opportunities to learn and grow my art. Every place, every experience, every teacher, every different medium has added another layer to my work. Shifting between drawing materials and paint encourages me to explore the nuances of color, the subtleties of mark making and the pursuit of meaningful images.
"Why?" Is a controlling idea when I am working. For example, why did I choose this image? Why did I chose this color over that one? Why? As the images take form, that important question runs in the background. If fosters exploration of new materials and new ways of expressing ideas. Innovation and imagination power the answer.
Making art has been a lifelong pleasure, a passion and a relentless pursuit. I hope my work causes you to think and ask your own questions.
