In creating "Stillness of Echoes," I wanted to capture the weight of this tragedy - the collective grief and frustration shared by so many in our community. Working with watercolor felt right; it's a medium that flows and fades, reflecting how these lives can feel like they're slipping away, leaving only faint echoes. Every brushstroke became a way of honoring each life that has been lost, as well as a way to keep the conversation alive. I focused on muted colors and gentle contrasts to convey both sadness and resilience, hoping to invite viewers into a quiet, reflective space. This project was deeply emotional, allowing me to channel my own feelings about the crisis into a piece that calls for awareness and justice.
