Savannah, GA
Dana W. Richardson is an artist and educator based in Savannah, Georgia, whose work explores dreamlike narratives through automatic painting. Her practice is deeply influenced by her annual residencies on Ossabaw Island, where she studies the dynamic relationship between nature and imagination. Richardson has completed several large-scale public artworks, including a commission for the Jepson Center for the Arts, and her fascination with landscape painting began during a year of study at the Marchutz School of Painting in the south of France. She earned her B.F.A. from the Savannah College of Art and Design and is currently pursuing her M.F.A. at the Maryland Institute College of Art.
