Born and bred in the South, Sir Will channels the world of Afro-Fanaticism, merging Southern identity, Black royalty, and an Afrocentric aesthetic in surreal landscapes and everyday scenes. His work, often perceived as unserious or unrefined, brings to life exaggerated imaginations of Black southern royalty, inviting viewers to step into a cultural wonderland of vibrant style and diverse characters. In juxtaposing traditions, Sir Will explores the beauty and cultural significance of Black hair, depicting it in daily moments to celebrate its role in Black identity. The series juxtaposes traditional concepts we grew up with in unconventional settings, aiming to challenge traditional perceptions of Black hair, and normalizing these practices. This series turns everyday rituals into a visual representation of Blackness as a symbol of heritage and identity.
