My piece, "The Dreamer," is rescuing my nicoyan indigenous technique, but with my contemporary abstract own design. It is an earth clay sculpture inspired by the nature, cultural and artistic heritage of my community, especially in Masaya, known as "the cradle of Nicaraguan folklore." The shape is an active volcano, the orange representing the fire and the top representing the crater. It reflects the power through imposing volcanos with pre-Columbian faces and its mystical jaguar crown, also linked to the Gueguense mask, expressing the resilience of any nation since the beginning of our history. At the base I placed traditional designs that I learned under the tutelage of my father when I was a child: the serpent quetzacoalt and the gods of the night (Mesoamerican roots). I also represent the nature in a sunset over the fresh water lakes that gives rise to beautiful constellations with the full moon. I'm also showing the importance of flora and fauna reflected in the birds and toucans.
