According to society, female nipples are labeled as sexual objects of lust, and are often overlooked as facilitators of nourishment. For a breast cancer survivor, a nipple can be a powerful tool in reclaiming one's body following mastectomy and reconstruction. They are as individualized as fingerprints. No two are the same, even on the same person. Through repetition, color, scale, and composition, this piece explores the complicated relationship of nipples as a conduit for a sense of belonging while celebrating their ability to retain one's individualism.
