"Vestments" is a 5-piece wall art sculpture created using heat and gravity inside a kiln. Each of the pieces started as a flat, long assemblage of glass strips and rectangles. Multiple subsequent firings provided the folding. A trip through the sandblaster gave each piece the matte finish. "Vestments" represents the stoles worn by ministers, priests and shaman during religious ceremonies. The stoles signify a more formal ceremony, where participants become part of a group that is providing and/or receiving a blessing, comfort or forgiveness. Each piece has an almost invisible hanging system, so they appear to float from the wall.
