Juliana Maurer

Juliana Maurer (she/they) is an artist, graphic designer, and community organizer from Asheville, North Carolina. Their work spans digital and traditional media to challenge dominant power structures, build community networks, and create opportunities for collective liberation.



Juliana's commitment to collaborative and engaged design is deeply rooted in social organizing, histories of direct action and community care, and art as a catalyst for change. They have collaborated with international publishing houses and their work has been featured in numerous juried exhibitions across the U.S. They are a co-founder of Mossy Press, a collaborative risograph and printmaking studio publishing artists books and printed matter in Appalachia. In all of her work, Juliana seeks to reflect and increase the resilience, health, and power of their community in Western North Carolina.
