ArtFields 2021 Named Top Opportunity for Artists

Artworks shown “Collective Belief” by Maggie Evans, “Volume” by Mia Yoon, ”Vestige” by Cindy Steiler, and “Greatest of Virtues” by Kevin Morrissey.

Each year, we hit the road to spread the word about ArtFields and the artist opportunities that have been created in Lake City. This year is different as we reach out digitally instead, and we’re so honored to be named a top opportunity for artists by Hyperallergic and Burnaway.

Until November 1, 2020, emerging and established Southeastern United States artists are invited to apply for ArtFields, our annual nine-day art competition and exhibition in Lake City, South Carolina.

If you’re looking for a unique art competition, ArtFields is for you! Each year, this event brings together art lovers, collectors, and curators who come to see Lake City transform into a town-wide gallery, allowing accepted artists to be part of the celebration while they compete for $100,000 in prizes. Downtown business become galleries and artwork is celebrated and awarded in a way like no other.

“This past year has been incredibly hard on the arts community,” our director Jamison Kerr explains. “Artists and art institutions are hurting and the future is uncertain. What is certain, however, is that art will always have a place in Lake City and that, through ArtFields, we’ll always find a way to support Southeastern artists.”

Adult artists of all working media who reside in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, or West Virginia are welcome to apply.
