Now Accepting ArtFields 2022 Public Art Proposals

“Portrait Partners” with Joe Dreher was a public art proposal from ArtFields 2021. 

After a positive reception from artists and visitors alike, we’re excited to bring back public art projects as part of ArtFields 2022.  In addition to the competition and special tenth year anniversary festivities, we are inviting artists to submit proposals for outdoor public art projects.

With this initiative, we aim to make ArtFields a place to explore artists’ big ideas. Artists from the 12 Southeastern states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia are eligible. -Artists can submit a proposal with the following information from December 16th, 2021 to February 18th, 2022.

-Title

-Concept

-Photos

-Equipment/labor needs

-Budget (ex., artist fee, accommodation, materials, transportation)

-Selected artists will be invited to install their work beginning March 2022 for display through ArtFields 2022 into early 2023. Grants will be awarded in varying amounts to cover artist fee, transportation, materials, etc.

-Artists should consider the outdoor setting and yearlong display term in the durability of their artwork proposal. This will play a role in the selection of public art projects.

-This is NOT part of the competition. If artists are accepted into the competition and invited to install public art, they must choose which to participate in.

-Timeline:

-Proposals accepted: December 16^th, 2021 through February 18^th, 2022.

-Selected artists notified: February 25^th, 2022.

-Contracts/installation timeline finalized with selected artists: March 1^st – 4^th, 2022.
