......for the ones that got away. The copper chains are hand formed and soldered. An oxidation patina is added to achieve the dark surface. Each plastic element is cut, shaped, and refined by hand. The work I make often serves as a dual double entendre through the function as a jewelry object and conceptual artwork in addition to the titles I give each piece. Concepts of fun, play, and humor are the basis of my work. My goal is to repurpose and transform cultural artifacts that would normally be thought of as waste into wearable art. I enjoy challenging and reconfiguring viewer stereotypes concerning the usage, value, and importance of materials such as plastic and metal.
