Sandra Wright is a Colombian-born artist who moved to the United States in 1998 . Physics and math teacher in her native country, she is now a full-time artist. Member of the Portrait Society of America, the Garrett Arts Council in Maryland, and the Appalachian Pastel Society in North Carolina. Sandra specializes in portraiture using charcoal, oils and pastels as her favorite media. She considers herself a self-taught artist as she began drawing when she was eight years old on her own, much to the bewilderment of her mother and teachers and she hasn't stopped since. Now a resident of beautiful Mount Storm ,WV, since 2011, she is the winner of multiple awards in Maryland, West Virginia and Virginia, winning the 2015 Best Of West Virginia Art Show among others.
