As a photojournalist, ML Miller’s work has been published internationally by leading publications and by major corporations. As a documentary photographer, her work has focused on the history and landscape of her family hometown of Summerton, SC, of which she has received public and private support. Photographic portraits of the Briggs v. Elliott petitioners currently hang in SC Congressman James Clyburn’s office on Capitol Hill, Washington, DC, and at the Modjeska Monteith Simkins Center for Justice, Ethics and Human Rights, Columbia, SC. Images from this body of work recently won Second Place and an Honorable Mention in the 15th Annual SlowExposures Juried Photography show. Photography documenting SC Governor Richard W. Riley’s terms in office is held in the collection of the SC State Museum and in the SC Archives. ML Miller continues her exploration of the photographic image, both as a documentarian expanding on lifelong themes, and thru new works.
