To enter a contest or even speak aloud is a severe break in character for Chris Horne. His plan was to quietly make a pile of museum-grade artifacts, die, and let more socially-adept people figure out to do with what is left. He’s been told that this is an odd mindset, but he is constantly overcome by a crippling interest in everything except commercial success or attention of any kind.
The bulk of his career has had him honor truly great people with various artistic endeavors. He would describe part of this process as necessarily being in a place of content anonymity. While he hopes to remain humble enough to play this part, he would like to work toward using things he makes to enter into or provoke larger conversations about life that people don't seem to have, for whatever reason. He is slowly working up the nerve to speak for himself and to address the awkward silence that seems to hang around the heavier things. One-hundred forty-six years and counting. Step 1...
