Myrtle Beach, SC
Neva Campbell works with acrylic, watercolor, and gouache on paper, claybord, and canvas. As an impressionist, she utilizes vivid colors to convey emotional light and density. Her work's complexity does not come from estimating its conceptual meaning but finding connection through the shared human experiences of beauty, truth, and emotion. Portrait artist, Bob Johnston, says about her art, "There is sensitivity to her work that inspires the viewer to participate in the messages of her creations.”
She is a native of Myrtle Beach, SC, where she finds inspiration in the South's dark history, gorgeous landscapes, and briny water. She recently had a solo show titled "Flesh and Bones" at the Adele Kassab Gallery of the Hyman Fine Arts Center, Francis Marion University. She has an upcoming solo exhibit at Gallery 120, Clover, SC, in June 2018.
