Born in San Jose, California, Joshua Masters (b. 1998) was raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, and completed their AS at Wake Technical Community College in 2021. Transferring to Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina, Joshua is a BFA candidate with a concentration in studio art. Joshua began their practice as a freelance artist in 2015. Spanning a variety of mediums, their works have subsequently been shown in the 14th Biennial International Miniature Print Exhibition 2023 at the Center for Contemporary Printmaking, Norwalk, CT, and Pride Pots Community Conversations at the Clay Studio in Philadelphia, PA. Upon moving to Western North Carolina, they began using practice as a channel for activism on behalf of the disabled and queer communities. Joshua is currently exploring intersectional experiences in queer and disabled communities through interdisciplinary works in Cullowhee, North Carolina.
