This piece I created in Adobe Illustrator represents creativity and self expression. On the exterior, the girl in this piece looks very tough. She is wearing black clothes and has sunglasses on. What she is wearing gives her a certain attitude that makes her look less approachable. The background behind her is very colorful and has shapes that are different from ordinary shapes. The background represents what is inside. What may appear as a very tough woman, is actually a creative and expressive person hiding behind the surface. The colors in the background are vibrant to represent the other side of herself that she hides behind her exterior. People often try to hide who they really are beneath their surface to protect themselves. That is what the woman in this picture is doing. I created this piece to show that we cannot fully understand someone just from the exterior. Beneath the surface, there is so much more to someone.
