This piece is inspired by my favorite photo-realistic artist, Chuck Close. I recreated his self-portrait using a mechanical pencil and q-tips. My favorite part of this piece is the glasses and the eyes. I tried to mimic Close's value shading and attention to detail that make his work look exactly like a photograph. This piece was beneficial for me because it helped me better my technique in realistic pieces.
