I didn't know what I would paint, but I knew that I wanted it to be something unique and something that only I would do. Soon, I knew I wanted to do a self portrait. I went through a lot of trial and error with different techniques, but after one wasted canvas and quite a bit of paint, I got the hang of things. I named this piece "A Fortunate Stroke of Serendipity" because it was an opportunity that I wasn't looking for, but by chance, was beneficial and was something that brought happiness to me.
