At Art Explorers, children develop their inner artist with hands-on experiences across all art disciplines. Art instructors come from an array of businesses and artists, including Olio Studio, Bakers Sweets, Moore Farms Botanical Garden, Crossroads on Main Restaurant, Dramatic Coffee Beans, Such A Storyteller, and more. Students in grades 7th-12th are encouraged to be volunteers.
Educational ArtWalks are Fields Trips designed for grades 1st – 12th grade. The ArtWalks provide young people with invaluable opportunities to learn and grow outside the traditional classroom setting. These experiences help students connect academic concepts to the real world, develop social and interpersonal skills, and foster curiosity and creativity by exposing them to new environments and perspectives.
By participating in field trips, students gain hands-on experiences that inspire lifelong learning and broaden their understanding of the world around them.
ArtMakers is an explosion of hands-on art experiences for students in grades 4K-6th grade. ArtMakers is held every year during the Competition and Festival. During ArtMakers, participants select from a variety of art activities and create their own works of art with artists and art-based organizations from across the state.
The ArtFields Jr. Art Competition began in Lake City, SC in 2013 and was launched statewide in 2016. Submissions open in November and end in February. Click here to see the artwork of great youth artists from South Carolina
