Artist Statement

This summer, I was standing on a bridge in Nashville, Tennessee, when a barge filled with scrap metal came past. I was inspired to take a photograph of the boat with the Nashville skyline as the backdrop during golden hour.

Artist Biography

Memphis Daniels

Columbia, SC

Memphis Daniels is an 8th grader at Crayton Middle School in Columbia, South Carolina. His photographs have been exhibited at ArtFields Jr. and the South Carolina State Fair. Memphis has won several awards for his photography including a Best in Show prize at the South Carolina State Fair. In addition to being a photographer, Memphis plays the guitar. His mother is a photographer and art teacher, his father is a filmmaker, and his little sister, Sadie, is an artist.
