My piece represents the feeling of desperation. In the portrait, I try to use the body language of my character being hunched over to show a lack of confidence. I also made her reach out for something which I like to think would be hope. I also made the background black to highlight the drawing and show that she's in a 'dark place'. I wanted it to be relatable since I believe we've all felt like we were stuck in some type of void. While also not knowing how to feel better but trying to grasp some form of hope.
