The artwork created is a Cubist image that was created as part of an Honors Art class assignment. I used a mixed media approach that includes crayons, tempera paint, a sgraffito technique, and eventually cutting the image apart and re-assembling as a relief work. Lines have been scratched into the surface of the work to reveal colors underneath with an attempt to recreate an image in a Cubist or fracturing style of work. Foam cor was used to create the work in relief. As I worked through the steps of the process, I was particularly interested in the use of line and shape to reinforce the style of Cubism.
