This piece belongs to my collection of sustained investigations dedicated to portraying academic burnout. It focuses on the feeling of dissociation from in and outside of the classroom due to stress and overworking. The pieces in the collection are all self-portraits, to illustrate the feeling that I wanted to express, but feel that others can also relate to. The illustration reflects the state of mind and additionally the idiom, Lost in Space. In this collection, each piece is monochrome, hand picked with a color that has an attachment to the theme and is also aesthetically pleasing. For Dissociation, I chose the color blue to better adorn the feeling of loneliness that often comes with becoming dissociative, as well as it's spirituality, enhancing the ghosts of responsibilities floating in space with the subject.
