This drawing was created for my art class. The assignment required us to select animals that represent us and to create a mythical creature by combining their different body parts. I picked pigeons, ants, capybaras, and dik-diks. Pigeons are symbols of peace. Ants are hard workers. Capybaras are calm, and dik-diks are small. I gave my animal the head of a pigeon, the body and legs of a honeypot ant, the fur of a capybara on its gaster, and the hind legs and horns of a dik-dik. I called it the Kirithra, which means "honeycomb" in Greek. I layered colored pencils to mix different colors and make them more saturated. My personal goal with this work was to make it look appealing, and to show the Kirithra in detail while also telling the viewer more about the Kirithra through its surroundings.
