This piece is a mixed media self portrait that captures my passions as an artist. I used 3 colors, magenta, green, and yellow, as well as black and white. The assignment given was to incorporate elements of things you love or do by featuring them "coming out of your head". As represented in the hair, sewing has always been a hobby that I have enjoyed. Whether that's hand sewing plushies, buttons, or beads or making my own clothing and accessories on a machine, I love it all. By using this craft, I hand sewed felt, buttons, beads, and a bit of embroidery onto this painting and placed them as if shading and contouring my bright green hair.
