In this piece, I explore the pressure that young girls, including myself, face to wear makeup throughout our lives. It reflects a cycle I've experienced--starting my day feeling content with myself, only to apply makeup in the hope that it will make me feel better, a hope that is never fulfilled. Instead, it often leaves me feeling worse. To convey this emotional journey, I used vivid colors at both the beginning and the end--the beginning representing the confidence I feel before makeup, and the end symbolizing the intense dissatisfaction and self-doubt that follows.
