This painting represents three generations of women in my family-my grandma, my mom, and me. I chose to paint this moment because it captures something simple but meaningful, which is being together in the kitchen, sharing time together. Nostalgia plays a big role in my painting. I wanted to show the warmth that exists when different generations come together, especially in a meaningful place like our kitchen. The kitchen has always felt like the heart of my family because of how it brings us together over food. Looking at the photo of us, I was inspired by the beauty in the contrast between youth, adulthood, and being aged.
