I painted the aftermath of a house show. I was inspired by my own experience with being in a band and seeing other bands play. I wanted to place emphasis on the subject, so I painted each object on a separate piece of paper, then glued it to the background with a piece of foam board between to make the painting quite literally pop out of the paper. My goal in this piece was to depict the mood after a show, not during it. I wanted to show how it feels to go from something exciting to complete calm.
