My artwork is inspired by my mom and our cat, Biscuit. My mom uses knitting needles and yarn to create beautiful things like sweaters and hats. Biscuit also likes to create with yarn, but he uses his 18 claws to make a beautiful tangle on the floor. I think it is funny that they both use yarn in very different ways. I experimented with materials I don't usually use, like wire and paper mache. I normally work with clay, so learning how to shape and build with new materials was exciting. My favorite part was using some of my brother's blond hair to make the whiskers! This artwork shows how creativity can look different for everyone, and how art can come from everyday life, and even from pets.
