I created this artwork to honor my sister who passed in 2016. She battled terminal brain cancer for nine months before passing. I want the viewer of this artwork to feel the warmth and joy that she brought to the world. I wanted the vibrant colors to reflect her vibrant personality, which is why I used acrylic paint markers. This artwork is meaningful to me because it's the first finished artwork I've done of my sister since she passed. I haven't done one of her before because of how much I missed her, but I think this piece honors her memory. I hope it brings as much light as she brought to the world, and I hope it brings awareness to DIPG and the foundation that works to cure it.
