This artwork is one of my most favorite drawings. Every day while making this piece, I was excited to get back to work. Even before this work, I have adored butterflies: their grace, beauty, and uniqueness. From this, I was inspired to portray its raw beauty, like the patterns of the butterfly wings, by drawing it realistically. I love how bright and detailed the butterfly is, grabbing the spotlight as the focal point. I used pencils and colored pencils, creating a monochrome background to frame and contrast the pink butterfly.
