For this project, I was told to create a surrealist painting based on an object or animal that we were given. I was assigned a fish. I chose to make this piece using watercolor and pen as my mediums because I felt that if I were to do an ocean-themed painting, watercolor would give it the feel of moving through water when someone is observing it. This piece came with its challenges, but overall I like how it turned out. This piece will always hold a special place in my heart because it shows the calmness and vibrancy of living near the beach and growing up in a town where sea turtles and marine life are loved and valued.
