For this piece, my inspiration was the beach and the memories I had of it when my family went there over the summer, as well as the pure beauty of it. I used clay to make this piece, and learned a little on the pottery wheel with this set. The only parts thrown on the wheel were the body of the teapot, the body of the cups, some of the saucers, and the little bowl. I experimented with textures for the wave using a toothbrush. I used the bristles to create the finer details, then for the greater details, I used the other end of the brush. I used Mayco glaze paints to paint and color this piece. I also learned how to blend glazes with a brush. I could make up a meaning for this piece, but I'm not going to. So the reason this piece exists is that I got an idea, liked it, and I wanted to create it just to make something beautiful for the world, because it needs something nice to look at, not just the bad.
